Kia ora Koutou

My name is Lucy Rush and I am excited to announce that I will be starting my teaching journey as a beginning teacher next year at Te Ao Mārama.

I come from a family of 5, being the youngest of two sisters. I am currently finishing off my Graduate Diploma at the University of Waikato and was lucky enough to be doing my final practicum with the Kāhu team.

I feel very privileged about becoming a part of this amazing community and look forward to meeting the school staff, students and families.

I grew up in a little Waikato town, Te Awamutu attending high school in Hamilton. In my final year of high school, I was lucky enough to experience being an exchange student in Switzerland. This made me realise my love for teaching and the impact it can have on making a difference in our young one’s lives. I have a passion in health, and anything sport related.

I look forward to starting at school, and being a part of the footprint Te Ao Mārama is leaving.
