Kia Ora, I’m Hannah!

I feel excited and privileged to be joining the Te Ao Mārama whānau. I’m passionate about building strong relationships with tamariki and their whānau and supporting our ākonga to develop a love of learning as curious, capable, and determined learners.

I’ve grown up in Hamilton and have been teaching and working with children for 16 years, both here and overseas. I began my career in Early Childhood, but while teaching in the UK I made the switch to primary school and I’ve been hooked ever since!

Life is always full and fun with a 9 year old, a 2 year old, and an energetic golden retriever at home. My partner Nick and I are also host parents to a 16 year old exchange student this year! As a family, we enjoy camping, water sports, flying, and adventuring. I value wellbeing and balance in my life so spending time at the gym and in nature are both ways I recharge.

My stepson attends Te Ao Mārama and our family has really appreciated the welcoming, supportive community. I feel very proud to be able to contribute towards that same community as part of the teaching team.
