Te Ao Mārama

07 595 0595 33 Hare Puke Drive, Hamilton

There have been many changes and developments within Te Ao Mārama since first opening and the Board of Trustees felt it was time to review our strategic direction.

We received over 100 responses which gave us a great sample of views from our diverse parent community. We were delighted to see that parents' perception of Te Ao Mārama continue to be overwhelmingly positive.

Section #1 – Ratings

The first section of the survey asked parents and caregivers to respond to short statements using this scale:

(1 – Strongly Disagree, 2 – Disagree, 3 – Neutral, 4 – Agree, 5 – Strongly Agree)

Overall satisfaction was exceptionally high, with an average rating of 4.66 across all survey responses.

In close to 1000 ratings across the survey questions, there were only 2% that disagreed, with 5% neutral, and 93% agreeing (with over 76% strongly agreeing to the various statements). We are delighted with this strong show of support and satisfaction.

Samples of the comments are included below

Section #2 – Short Answers

Covid-19: The school's response to Covid-19 (communication, approach to teaching and learning, wellbeing etc).

Positive comments hugely outweighed anything considered even slightly negative/critical by 15 to 1 in this section.

If you were asked to describe Te Ao Mārama School to a work colleague or friend, what would you say?

We were pleased to see that 100% of respondents had a positive comment on how they would describe the school to a friend or colleague. This is a positive endorsement of the work that has been done by staff and families to build relationships.

Next steps / On the Radar

In Conclusion

The Te Ao Mārama Board of Trustees would once again like to thank all of the respondents for the time you have taken to give your feedback.

While the survey highlights how lucky we are to be part of an amazing, innovative school we are also deeply committed to improve.  As parents, I think we can be confident that these improvements will be made in the best interests of the school, the wider community, and most importantly with a focus on our tamariki.
