Kia ora koutou,
Ko Aimee Morrison-Cowley tōku ingoa.
Growing up, I enjoyed most of my schooling in Kirikiriroa Hamilton. I studied a Bachelor of Arts at Canterbury University, before moving back to the Waikato to complete my Post Graduate Diploma in Primary Teaching.
After this, I moved to Morrinsville with my husband, Sam - we now have a wonderful five year old daughter and a dog named Sunny.
I have been a kaiako for 11 years, teaching across Years 2–6, and I’m passionate about weaving the arts, technology and outdoor education into learning.
I strongly believe in the philosophy of Te Whare Tapa Whā, ensuring the whole child is supported - taha hinengaro (mental and emotional wellbeing), taha tinana (physical wellbeing), taha wairua (spiritual wellbeing), and taha whānau (family and social wellbeing) - so they can be the best version of themselves when approaching their learning.
In my spare time, you’ll often find me connecting with nature at the beach or lake, getting creative with pottery, watching movies or catching up with friends. I am beyond excited to be joining the incredible team at Te Ao Mārama in 2026 and I look forward to getting to know all of you.
