Ko Sandra Humphry tõku ingoa.
Arau Nei Sandra Humphry.
I have been teaching for over 20 years, spending most of my teaching junior school. Currently I hold a position in our local Kāhui Ako - Te Pae Here Kāhui Ako Te Raki Rāwhiti o Kirikiriroa as an Across School Teacher. I get to work with teachers across the 22 schools that are a part of this Kāhui Ako.
My passions include te reo Māori me ona tikanga, Pasifika success in Education and transitions in the education pathway. I love working alongside teachers and school support staff to explore ways to engage whānau and provide the foundations for success for our tamariki.
My mother is from the islands of Kiribati and has instilled in me a passion for language and cultural identity. Even though I was born in New Zealand I can speak the Kiribati language and have a good grasp of Te Reo Māori.
I have 4 children. My 2 eldest are now adults, one a nurse and one at university while the other 2 are in their final years of high school. I enjoy coaching, watching and playing various sports including touch, basketball, netball and rugby. I also enjoy reading a book or watching movies in my PJs!!
